Pakistan will host the third D-8 Ministerial Meeting, which will take place before the fourth D-8 Senior Officials Meeting, as decided at the second D-8 Ministerial Meeting, which took place in Malaysia in 2019.

The goal of the interministerial meeting on the planning and execution of the D-8 Ministerial Meeting, according to Awn Chaudhry, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Tourism & Sports and Chairman of the PTDC, was to promote Pakistan’s tourism potential and investigate member state opportunities for tourism trade.

He also mentioned that the summit might lead to new directions in socioeconomic growth.

In keeping with the aims and goals of D-8, the meeting’s objectives are to identify possible paths (incentives and initiatives) to enhance intra-D-8 tourism, bring jointly member state tourism experts to improve their abilities. And to create innovative approaches for the post-COVID-19 tourism era, provide a forum for member states to exchange experiences and expertise in order and explore chances for collaboration.

An intergovernmental group known as the D-8 (Developing Eight) Organization for Economic Cooperation was founded in 1997. Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria,  Iran, and Turkiye are its eight developing nations.
