According to detailed studies, the country’s upper and central regions will likely see a prolonged spell of bitterly cold weather. Rain and heavy snowfall are predicted to disrupt the weather throughout Kashmir, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Murree.
Since the weather system is expected to be severe, road closures may occur in several districts. Regions like Murree, Galiyat, Nathiagali, Kaghan, Naran, Dir, Swat, Chitral, Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Bagh, and Haveli are immediately at risk due to the predicted heavy snowfall throughout the weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday. Risks must be avoided by taking precautions, as these circumstances can harm transportation networks seriously.
Significant precipitation is also anticipated in cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala. If this downpour gets severe enough to cause urban flooding, local authorities must take immediate action to protect lives and property.
The weather forecast also raises concerns about potential landslides in several Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Murree districts. These places are particularly vulnerable due to the anticipated significant rainfall, necessitating backup plans and preventive measures as the likelihood of landslips rises.
To lessen the possible impact of these unfavorable conditions, communities, and governing bodies are advised to use caution, take preventative measures, and stay current on official advisories in light of these impending meteorological problems.
