The operation came to an end on October 19, 1888, when some tribes asked for a truce. The tribes of the Parari Sayyids, Allaiwals, and Tikariwals who lived north of the Black Mountain were the target of the second phase. The campaign ended on November 2 and 3, 1888, when the British eventually took control of and destroyed the Allaiwal village of Pokal.

In 2005, a devastating earthquake struck Kashmir, severely damaging the Torghar region in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The 7.6-magnitude earthquake produced a path of devastation, with stone homes collapsing like toys and entire villages reduced to rubble.

The area under study is located between 34°32′ and 34°50′ north latitude and 72°48′ and 72°58′ east longitude. Its eastward boundary is Agror, and its southern boundary is Tanawal. Its western boundary is shared with Buner, while Battagram lies northeast of it.
Situated at an approximate elevation of 2,400 meters above sea level, the region extends 40 to 48 kilometers from north to south. Because the area is close to the Chagharzai areas of Buner District, it is called Chagharzai. Furthermore worth mentioning is the fact that Tehsil Martung, or rather the territory that it encompasses, is situated in Shangla District, across the Indus River from Kala Dhaka, which is officially now Tor Ghar.
