Pakistan Wins Travel & Adventure Show Award in New York

ISLAMABAD: At the Travel and Adventure Show, 2024, which was held in New York, the Pakistan Pavilion took home the “Best In-Show – International Tourism Development” title.

On January 27 and 28, nearly 550 of the world’s most popular vacation destinations, tour operators, cruise lines, and travel agencies participated in the high-profile event.

The event featured participation from about 190 nations.

Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, officially opened the Pakistan Pavilion, which was established in association with the Pakistan Consulate General in New York, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), and private businesses.

At the Pakistan Pavilion’s opening, guests included Ghulam Muhammad, the Minister of Tourism for Gilgit-Baltistan; G-B Raja Nasir Ali Khan, the former Minister of Tourism; and Aamer Ahmed Atozai, the Consul General of Pakistan in New York.

A delegation of sixty people represented Pakistan at the Travel and Adventure Show. This deligation includes representatives from the PTDC, TDAP, and twenty-four private sector companies.

Live demonstrations of lacquer woodworking and traditional doll-making by Pakistani artists were showcased at the Travel & Adventure Show.

It was exhibiting the variety of tourism opportunities available to the country.

Ambassador Masood remarked, “The Travel and Adventure Show is a fantastic show with many countries and tour operators present here.”

He remarked, “We are proud that the Pakistan Pavilion won Best in Show at the International Travel and Adventure Show.” “The world is taking keen interest in the tourism market of Pakistan, especially in adventure and eco-tourism.”

“Pakistan has the most beautiful and undiscovered touristic sites with huge untapped tourism potential,” Masood declared.

The Travel and Adventure Show has been connecting over 2.5 million travelers. Over 15,000 distinct travel advisors and thousands of travel media with over 4,500 different exhibiting companies from around the world, influencing over $6 billion in travel bookings for over 19 years and over 118 completed events.

Ambassador Masood encouraged guests to visit Pakistan and take in the timeless beauty of the country’s historic civilizations and natural beauties, from snow-capped peaks to beautiful seaside locations, while highlighting the country’s enormous tourism potential.
