TAKHTBHAI: Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Minister of State and Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Task Force for Gandhara Tourism, stated on Wednesday that promoting Gandhara Civilization tourism would contribute to improving Pakistan’s favourable reputation abroad.
Speaking with reporters while visiting the old Buddhist sites and Monastery of World Heritage here with foreign delegates, media representatives, and students, he declared that Takhtbhai was still the centre of culture and knowledge.
According to Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, “visiting the Buddhist sites and Monastery of World Heritage, we feel like we are seeing the ancient historic university disseminating knowledge and great civilization.” He also stated that the Gandhara Civilization would not be complete without mentioning the illustrious Mauryan Emperor, Maharaja Ashok-e-Azam.
According to him, Buddhism was introduced and expanded throughout this region of the world, which includes Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, by Maharaja Ashok.He conveyed his joy at visiting this outstanding centre of Buddhism and education with Chinese students, international envoys, and media representatives.
