According to the data kept by Pakistan’s Ministry of Home Affairs, 2,420 Sikh pilgrims from India have traveled to Pakistan to take part in the ceremonies commemorating Guru Nanak Jayanti.
The New Capital: festivities honoring the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak are taking place across multiple locations in Pakistan from November 6-15. These festivities are taking place following the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. Nearly 3,000 pilgrims are taking part in these events.
According to the data kept by the Ministry of Home Affairs, there have been 2,420 Sikh pilgrims from India who have made the trip to Pakistan to take part in the celebrations for Guru Nanak Jayanti. On Tuesday, a total of 433 pilgrims from India traveled through the ICP Dera Baba Nanak in Amritsar to pay their respects at the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara located in Pakistan. These individuals went to the gurdwara to offer prayers on the occasion of Gurpurab.
A senior officer informed NDTV that several jathas of Sikh devotees made the journey across the Attari-Wagah border on Sunday to perform the pilgrimage to Nankana Sahib, which is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
Gurdwara Janam Asthan, also known as Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, is a gurdwara that is held in very high esteem since it is located at the exact spot where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, was born.
In the Pakistani province of Punjab, the holy site may be found in the city of Nankana Sahib, which is close to the metropolis of Lahore.
On November 7, according to the reports of the Home Ministry and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, a jatha of pilgrims paid their respects at the Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Mandi Chuharkhana (Sheikhupura).
Celebrations for Parkash Gurpurab were held at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib on November 8, and the jatha was there to take part in them.
According to the official, the pilgrims would begin their journey to Gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore on November 11 after leaving for Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal on November 9. After spending the night there on November 10, they will continue their journey to Gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore on November 11.
The next day, November 13, they would travel to Gurdwara Sri Rorhi Sahib in Eminabad and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur Sahib before making their way back to Dehra Sahib in Lahore, he explained. The jatha will spend the night of November 14 at the Gurdwara Dehra Sahib in Lahore, Pakistan, and will then travel back to India the next day.

There were 429 Indian nationals among the pilgrims who went to Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, and there were also four people who held OCI cards, which stands for overseas citizenship of India. After completing their religious observances, the pilgrims have all now returned.
