During a seminar held in observance of World Tourism Day, speakers implored the government and tourism management firms to give green investments in infrastructure and services at the nation’s tourist hotspots top priority.
To guarantee sustainable ecotourism, the use of non-timber fuel, alternative energy, water conservation, solid waste management, and environmentally friendly practices will be encouraged.
On Wednesday, in honour of World Tourism Day, the National Skills University (NSU), ICLC, and Devcom-Pakistan hosted a seminar with the theme “Tourism and Green Investments.”
Aftabur Rahman Rana, managing director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), was the main guest at the event.
Vice Chancellor of NSU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, President of the Rural Development Foundation (RDF), Brig. (Retd) Muhammad Khan, Executive Director of Devcom-Pakistan Munir Ahmed, Secretary of the ICLC Sibtain Raza, CEO of Apex Adnan Saeed, Sumera Raza, and Rana Tariq Javed were among the guests who spoke.

According to Rana, the federal government has enlisted the help of provincial authorities to ensure sustainable ecotourism models. She also stated that in order to prevent excessive interventions, additional awareness campaigns and stakeholder involvement are needed.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar encouraged the young people to explore Pakistan, a heavenly country with a vastly varied culture and terrain. The great outdoors serves as an open book for tourists to learn about the nation’s cultural and historical treasures.

Munir Ahmed, Executive Director of Devcom-Pakistan, pleaded with the government to limit the harm being done to the green cover by the environment, unwelcoming buildings, housing societies, the wood mafia, littering, and improperly handled solid waste. The primary stakeholders in tourist sites are the local residents. They will emerge to establish their groups.
